FE Workforce Strategy and FE Workforce Strategy Implementation Plan 2008-9: Scoping of Options for a Provider Tool-kit
Introduction
As part of the Workforce Strategy and Implementation Plan refresh and review process, a discrete piece of active research is being carried out to scope the options for a provider tool-kit for the application of the FE Workforce Strategy and its Implementation Plan. The tool-kit, when developed later, will be aimed at busy managers who are not human resources specialists but who want to adopt recommended practice in developing their workforce. The research and consultation process will reflect this target audience.
ACER in partnership with EMFEC, has been commissioned to manage the research on behalf of LLUK.
The work will include:
- desk research to determine the various resources and tool-kits available to inform workforce development activities for other sectors, and resources and materials already available in the FE sector
- a consultation process including initial focus group discussions with groups of providers across the breadth of the FE sector to identify the particular requirements of each constituency, followed by appraisal of the development options and models for the tool-kit with potential beneficiaries at two national events
- recruitment of institutions for consultation and agreement to participate in testing once tool-kit design is completed
