Collaborative Practice Development Days …. your one stop shop for teaching, learning and assessment skillsetf

ACER is working with emfec and the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) to develop and deliver a creative and interactive development and training day.  Our event will take place on 20th February 2017 at the British Racing School, Newmarket, and will provide opportunities to undertake practical workshops to develop your practice and to attend a market place to learn from regional best practice examples.

Workshops topics include: Ofsted; adapting to the digital learner; motivating disengaged learners; digital technology in maths teaching; the resilient learner in English and Professional standards.

Best practice examples include: leadership practices that lead to maths and English success; higher apprenticeship delivery; delivering maths and English for apprenticeship remotely; addressing metal health issues; adaptive learning platforms and skills competitions.

Eduqas, sponsor of the event, offers Ofqual reformed GCSEs (9-1), AS and A levels to secondary schools and colleges across England, for first teaching from 2015. As part of WJEC, Eduqas provides expert advice, high quality resources and support to teachers delivering our qualifications.

This is one in a series of days designed to enhance and improve teaching, learning and assessment. The development day will harness the power of collaboration to encourage peer-led learning and the sharing of effective teaching, learning and assessment (TLA) approaches and strategies.

Working with partners with a long and successful track record of supporting the training and skills needs of the Further Education Sector, the series of eight development and training days will bring together over 800 practitioners from across the sector.  Building on the success of the ETF’s Outstanding Teaching, Learning and Assessment activity, the development days will focus on TLA improvements and explore how some of the current challenges facing practitioners can be overcome.  Combining practitioner-led workshops and a “marketplace” to showcase innovative TLA practices, the development and training days will prove the time and space to talk to and learn from TLA practitioners.
