Embedding equality & diversity within curriculum planning and teaching & learning

2 Sept 2010, 9.30am - 4.00pm
Cambridge

Focus of the day:
The Ofsted Inspection Framework now has a much stronger focus on equal opportunities. Colleges must embed equality and diversity (E&D) across all organisational policy and practice so that this is central and fundamental to all that they do. Embedding E&D within curriculum planning and teaching and learning delivery is an integral part of this challenge.

This is a practical course that will help explore what this means in practice and will provide practical solutions and share best practice in the sector.

During this event you will:

  • appreciate the legal, inspection and college context for equality and diversity
  • consider how equality and diversity can be embedded more effectively within curriculum planning and teaching and learning delivery
  • explore key issues for colleges
  • understand the benefits of a curriculum for diversity

Intended audience:
This course will be of interest to managers and staff with a remit for equality and diversity, quality managers, tutors, teacher educators and advanced practitioners.
