Professional Development Services

ACER - experts in professional development in the FE sector

ACER was set up in 1993 to promote and represent the interests of further education colleges and provide quality improvement services to the whole further education sector across the Eastern region. As a sector-managed, not-for-profit organisation, ACER is directed and governed by colleges in the region and works with wider FE sector providers.

 

Our CPD programmes reflect and support current developments across the college and learning& skills sector, designed around all 4 priorities of the FE workforce strategy. The role of professionals in the further education sector is constantly evolving and adapting to a range of external and internal pressures and our portfolio of professional development and services has grown to reflect this. Having provided a range of valuable training, events and other support to the education sector for over 17 years, we have established ourselves as one of the leading providers of innovative professional development services in the Eastern region.


ACER’s role in the management of regional projects and provider of regional shared services, along with our strong links with providers and sector organisations, gives us an insight into the FE sector and has led to the development of the provision and services detailed in this directory. Taking inspiration from our years of experience, customer feedback, national policies, regional needs and quality initiatives, we are constantly developing our CPD services to match your organisation’s needs and
to improve the quality of the sector as a whole.


We offer a flexible service which can be tailored to topics you wish to address and can be delivered at your convenience. We offer training across the region, including delivery in your premises. We can offer you exclusive training events, or we can help you spread the cost by sharing between providers. Flexibility and quality are key to everything we do. Our aim is to help you develop your service and improve quality of colleges and training providers across the region.
