Additional procurement products
We anticipate that some of our members will need
different levels of strategic procurement service
depending on the circumstances in the college and
the people involved. We have outlined an additional
suite of discrete procurement services, from light
touch advice to full engagement.
In addition to the basic fee, we are offering a range of service upgrades and consultancy packages, for additional payment or built into your annual membership. These products are only available to colleges who join our annual procurement service and are arranged in partnership with ACER.
Coaching and mentoring
Aimed at staff new to the procurement function or unqualified staff who have Procurement as a significant part of their daily role. This will comprise of a weekly telephone session augmented by a help line by telephone and email. Costs will be based on a per session fee but will be agreed with you dependent on your needs.
OJEU compliant tendering services
This is available for Colleges who require a particular major contract to be tendered through an OJEU compliant tendering exercise.
Audit service
This service is a complete interrogation of all of the non pay expenditure at the college including systems, contracts and areas of significant expenditure.
Outsourced procurement management
This service will be provided to individual colleges as well as colleges working in a collaboration group and includes full strategic procurement services.
Strategic procurement management
This is a service that allows colleges who do not want to employ their own Procurement Officers or equivalents but who require a higher level of advice as to how best to structure their procurement operations and assistance in obtaining significant savings and best value by collaborating with Colleges who have a similar requirement.
Procurement Training
Procurement courses will be available on an open basis on a range of procurement related topics at varied rates.

Procurement staff
The strategic procurement service is led by Phil White, Regional Procurement Services Manager of ACER. Phil, a corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, has a very successful track record of public sector procurement including FE and HE. Whilst in procurement Phil has made savings for the organisations he worked for of £21m.
The service is supported by Emma Harman, Regional Procurement Services Administrator.
